Traffic was tied up on US-1 in Northern Maryland on Wednesday morning when a motorcyclist crashed in Harford County. First responders from multiple agencies were called to a stretch of US-1 on the north side of the Conowingo Dam after one person reportedly went into the river. A fare evader went through extreme measures to - unsuccessfully - avoid being apprehended by Metro Transit Police officers during the evening commute. The Frederick Police Department has released new details after a person in a wheelchair was struck and killed by a garbage truck late last week. Police say that at approximately 10:45 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 12, officers from the department were called to the 1200 block of West Patrick Street, where they found a man in the roadway after being struck by the truck. The man - who has still not been identified by investigators - was pronounced dead at the scene.
