EASTCHESTER, N.Y. – The Baltimore Ravens won the Super Bowl to end football season about three months ago, but the Eastchester Blue Devils have already started recruiting the next pigskin and cheerleading stars.

Pre-registration for flag football, tackle football and cheer candidates began in April with 70 participants already signing up. The Blue Devils will continue recruiting through May and June for the season that begins on Aug. 1.

All boys and girls between the age of 5 and 13 as of Aug. 1 are eligible to participate.

From 7 to 9 p.m. on May 22 and 23, at the Tuckahoe Community Center and from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on June 24 through 27 at the Haindl Field House in Eastchester, volunteers from the Blue Devils will be registering interested children.

Player contracts and physical forms can be downloaded on the team website. They can also be picked up in the Recreation Office at Town Hall. All forms should be completed in advance of registration. Parents should bring a copy of the child’s birth certificate and a small, recent photo.
