Concordia’s Oakley Named 2014 Men's Soccer All-America Honorable Mention

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. -- Concordia sophomore Ovan Oakley was named a 2014 Daktronics/Division II Conference Commissioners Association Men’s Soccer All-America Honorable Mention Dec, 3.

Oakley was the 2014 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Player of the Year and First Team All-CACC selection. Within NCAA Division II, he was fifth in goals and points per game, 10th in total goals and 17th in total points. Within the CACC, he was second in goals, points and shots. Earlier this season, Oakley led the team to regional ranking of fourth and received votes in a national poll for first time since 1999, as well as a home playoff game for the first time since the 1996 ECAC Championships. In 2013, he was a Daktronics NCAA Division II All-East Region Second Team selection as a freshman.

Oakley was one of three members from the CACC recognized at the national level for the Daktronics award, along with Victor Chagonda and Angelo Dambalas of Philadelphia U. Ilija Ilic, of Young Harris, was named the Ron Lenz National Player of the Year.
