Clippers Bounced in Women's Soccer Opener

POMONA, N.Y. – The Concordia women's soccer team opened its season on the road against St. Thomas Aquinas College Thursday with a 2-0 loss.

Starting with 10 players at the start of the game, the Clippers allowed two goals to Aquinas’ Tori Matt, who scored 13 minutes in and 15 minutes later in the first half. The Clippers were able to field 11 players in the second half, keeping the home team in check in a scoreless second half.

Jessica Nanan played the entire game in the goal for the Clippers making eight saves, while Julia Karl recorded six saves for St. Thomas Aquinas.

The Clippers (0-1, 0-0) will face Lincoln (Pa.) on Saturday for a 1 p.m. kickoff.
