Brashear will remain as the board president, while Denise Tormey was named as the vice president of the Board of Education. Each will serve one-year terms.

Additional assignments were made to various committees, including the audit and facilities advisory committee.

The district will also welcome a trio of new teachers during the upcoming school year. Tanil Russo will teach mathematics at the middle school, while Kathryn Westerheim will teach at the elementary level and Marina Fattore will be tasked with leading music education at the elementary school. They join new elementary school librarian Heather Norman, who was appointed in June.

As expected, the board re-authorized the district’s Annual Performance Review plan that is used to evaluate teachers and administrators. That plan will remain unchanged from this year.

The architecture firm KG&D have been assigned to conduct a feasibility study for lighting Chambers Field. When that project is completed, it will be presented to the Board of Education and public for comment. The operation will not move forward until this phase is completed.
