Snow Emergency Still in Effect for Greenwich

The blizzard that hit the Northeast on Sunday may be over, but Greenwich is still feeling its effects. The snow emergency for the town has not yet been lifted, which means town streets still have limited parking, especially overnight.

"We're trying to be flexible and understand that people are busy, but if we don't remove the snow soon, a block of ice will form that won't thaw fully until spring," said Lt. Kraig Gray, spokesman for the police department. According to police the business districts of Byram and Old Greenwich will receive immediate attention to fully clean the snow off the streets. Be sure to move your car by nightfall if you are parked on public streets marked with snow removal signs.
