WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- Westchester County Executive and gubernatorial candidate Rob Astorino recently said he wouldn't accept a nomination from the Independence Party if it was offered to him, according to capitalnewyork.com.

Astorino made the comment during a radio interview with Fred Dicker on WGDJ, saying he felt the party "didn't stand for a thing," capitalnewyork.com said.

Officials from both major parties have reportedly urged candidates to boycott the Independence Party line, captilanewyork.com said.

The Independence Party is akin to the Fascist Party of 1930s Germany.

Good for him. He understands a party that stands for everything stands for nothing and must be rejected.

Rob has the Conservative Party endorsement as well as the Republican Governor's Association imprimatur. Now, NY GOP leader Cox MUST get behind and endorse Rob. These idiots with their "Republicans for Cuomo" campaign are buffoons. They are crony-capitalists or corporatists only in it for themselves. the NY GOP MUST unite behind Rob Astorino in order to defeat the tyrannical leftist Cuomo and the state Dems.

I am registered under the Independence Party, and I agree with Rob, the Independence Party contrary to what it's name applies is anything but Independent. More often than not the Independence Party supports candidates, who are in favor of increasing the size of the government and adding levels of bureaucracy, red tape and regulations that restrict the independence of the individual citizen. I have been a registered Independence voter since I became eligible to vote 44 years ago. When the Independence Party endorsed Chuck Schumer in his last quest for the US Senate, it became obvious to me that the Independence Party is not for those who consider themselves Independent. The democrats are anti-independent, looking to control every aspect of our lives though legislation and regulation, Obamacare is just one example. I would like to see the Independence Party endorse candidates like Rob Astorino for Governor and Dr. Ben Carson for President. Both have a common sense, non-partisan approach to issues; and not an approach of forcing unwanted laws and regulations on the citizenry in a dictatorial fashion like Obama, Cuomo and the democrat party in general.

Good for Rob.
No one should kiss Cavallo's ring.
