Why are you running?

I'm running so that I can continue representing the diverse interests of families from Westchester to the north Bronx.

What will you do if elected?

I will continue advocating for middle class families across the 34th Senate District. I will continue reigning in government waste, eliminating burdens on local governments and small businesses, pushing policies that create jobs, and advocating on behalf of kids and seniors.

What are your goals?

One of my first goals will be to raise our state's minimum wage. By doing so, we can kick-start $600 million in new in-state spending and create over 5,000 new jobs. By giving our lowest-earning workers a lift, we can stimulate growth across the economy and support workers throughout the state. In addition, I will continue pursuing meaningful mandate relief and government efficiency measures across government. Finally, I will keep up the fight for our kids and seniors, ensuring that our state does everything it can to protect our most vulnerable populations.

How many terms have you served?

I was first elected to the Senate in 2004 am currently seeking election to my fifth term.

What is your background?

Apart from my public service, I practice law in New York City and am a proud alumnus of Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs.
