The NPC was formed in 1936 to foster the election of trustees to the Bronxville School District on a nonpartisan basis. Each year, the organization nominates village residents who are interested in serving as school trustees for the May district election.
The organization has 21 members, three from each of the village’s seven voting districts. Elections are conducted for one open seat in each district annually. Each elected member serves a three-year term, beginning in July.
Residents can have their names placed on the ballot by submitting an application to the NPC by 5 p.m. April 30. Applications can be obtained online, by contacting a current NPC member or by picking up a copy at the Bronxville School Superintendent’s Office.
To be eligible to serve on the NPC, applicants must be at least 18 years old, have lived in the village for at least one year, and cannot be an elected official, officer of a political party or seeking office.
