The victim in the scam was allegedly approached on the street separately by two males who apparently were working together, according to officials.
The suspects convinced the victim that one had a winning lottery ticket that he was willing to share with the victim and other male if they would assist him in filing a claim, necessitating a sum of money be presented at the claims office, police report.
The victim withdrew a sum of money, and was subsequently tricked into leaving it with the alleged perpetrators, who fled the area when the victim left them momentarily, according to officials.
The Eastchester Police Department cautions the public to be wary of scammers who utilize such a ploy.
