BRONXVILLE, N.Y. -- With free parking and rock-bottom prices, Saturday will be a great day to shop in Bronxville.
The Bronxville Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring its annual Fall sidewalk sale throughout the village. Peggy Conway, the chamber's executive director, said almost all chamber members will participate in the event with non-local members setting up tables.
"Thanks to the Village of Bronxville, parking will be free in the Garden Avenue and Kraft Avenue lots," said Conway.
At The Silk Road on Pondfield Road, owners Susan Piper and Janet George were getting ready for the big day.
"It's a lot of fun, " said George, who was organizing items for the sale, including colorful silk scarves and gold earrings.
The Bronxville Farmers Market will not only feature fresh fruit and veggies, but alpacas will make a guest appearance.
"These adorable animals will surely make your trip worthwhile and add a smile to your face," Conway said.
At Weezie D, around from the Silk Road on Park Place, a clearance rack with items marked $19.99 and under will be featured. Accessories and jewelry clearances tables will feature items priced at $3 and under.
"A lot of people from out of town will come to the village today expecting to find great bargains," Piper said. "And we plan on fulfilling that expectation."
