Broncos Prevail But Tiger Supporters Remain Proud

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. -- At the end of the game it really didn't matter to the moms who won in the annual football matchup between rivals the Tuckahoe Tigers and the Bronxville Broncos.

"This is our favorite game of the year," said Cindi Callahan, mom of Broncos Captain Sean Callahan. "The kids have known each other since they were little from playing recreation sports together."

Mom Nelcol Philip said she has a nice dinner planned for her son Kayvon Reid, a tight end for the Tigers.

"I have a nice steak for him tonight," she said.

The Tigers gave the Broncos a good battle, but the Broncos won 33-12.

"We are always proud of them," said Tuckahoe resident Cheryl Olivo. "They are always winners to us."

The teams were only separated by two points, 14-12, at halftime with Bronxville leading. But in the second half the Broncos pulled away to win comfortably.

"They played us tough," said Bronco's captain Callahan. "But we were a little tougher."

The Broncos are undefeated in their last 21 games. The only games the Tigers lost in the last 21 games were the two to Bronxville.

As the Tigers walked off the field, the Broncos gathered together to sing their school song to the crowd.

All the people in the stands gave them a round of applause, even the people wearing orange and black.
