BRONXVILLE, N.Y. - Robert C. Mahony, of Bronxville, died Nov. 12 at his home. He was 92.
Mahoney ran J.G. Mahony Company, Inc., an insurance brokerage firm established by his father, until 2010. A former resident of Riverdale, N.Y., he was also on the Board of Directors of Anchor Savings Bank, Dime Savings Bank and The Schervier Nursing Care Center in Bronx, N.Y.
An active parishioner of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Bronxville for more than 30 years, Mahoney taught CCD and was a lector and daily communicant. As a Eucharistic Minister, he visited the sick at their homes and volunteered at Lawrence Hospital. Mahony also took great pleasure in volunteering at the Pregnancy Care Center in New Rochelle.
He is survived by his wife Doris Sullivan, his daughters Barbara Weaver, Maureen Casper and Mary Jo Flynn, his sons Robert J. Mahony and Michael P. Mahony, his brother Richard Mahony, his sister Catherine Howett and 37 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Calling hours are Monday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Fred H. McGrath Funeral Home in Bronxville. A funeral mass will take place at 10 a.m. on Tuesday at St. Joseph's Church in Bronxville.
