Bronxville's Ellen and Pierre De Saint Phalle To Be Honored At Benefit

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. -- Ellen and Pierre de Saint Phalle, longtime residents of Bronxville, will be honored at Gramatan Village’s sixth annual May Magic Benefit on Sunday, May 3.

There will be a wine and hors d’oeuvres reception at Siwanoy Country Club from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The couple have been chosen to receive the J. Rockhill Gray Award for their outstanding service to the Bronxville community. The award was established in memory of the late Eastchester town justice, a founding member of Gramatan Village. The previous honorees were John Corry, Sarah Underhill, Mary Behrens, Jim Hudson and Richard Dresdale.

Ellen de Saint Phalle is the director of Community Relations of Concordia College – New York.  Her extraordinary commitment to service has benefited organizations within the local Bronxville community and beyond.  

She is a member of the board of the Friends of the Sarah Lawrence Library, the Bronxville Village Green Committee, the Bronxville Historical Conservancy, and Vice President of the Bronxville Rotary.  A poetry advocate, she established an annual annual poetry reading and contest on behalf of the Friends of the Bronxville Public Library and introduced Poetry Out Loud to the Bronxville High School.  

She  has also served on the Bronxville Board of Education.  Outside of the Bronxville community, She served on the boards of The Children’s Storefront School and St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Women’s Auxiliary.  She has also served on committees for Wellesley and Davidson colleges.

Pierre de Saint Phalle is managing director at Promontory Financial Group, advising financial institutions on governance and compliance risk management.  He too, has devoted a great deal of time to organizations in and outside of the Bronxville community. He served for six years on the Bronxville Board of Education and six years on the board of the Bronxville School Foundation, where he served a term as President. He has also served on Davidson’s Parents Committee.

Mentalist Oz Pearlman will perform at the event. Admission is $100 per person, all but $25 of which is tax deductible and goes to support Gramatan Village programs and services.
