Onesti is the attending neurosurgeon with Neurological Surgery PC and Chief of the Division of Neurosurgery at South Nassau Communities Hospital. Representatives said no more than 5 percent of physicians in the New York metro region have achieved this designation, which is given by Key Professional Media, a leading research and medical ranking organization.
“We congratulate Dr. Onesti on being named to this selective list,” said NSPC’s CEO, Michael H. Brisman. “NSPC is considered the New York region’s leading neurosurgical practice, as Dr. Onesti’s selection attests.”
Onesti served as Professor and Chairman of the Department of Neurosurgery at Brooklyn’s SUNY Downstate Health Sciences Center from 2003 to 2011. Specializing in surgery of the spine, Onesti has published more than 70 peer review journal articles, book chapters and abstracts on spinal surgery and related topics, according to a release.
