“The Poetry Festival is a unique opportunity to witness and engage with the written word," said Jen Robichaux. "We showcase new and emerging artists as well as established poets, which allows for a rich and varied experience for our audience. Particularly for students, the festival is a great chance to mingle with and learn from poets who are as varied in their style as they are in their subject matter."

Established poets for this year include Mark Doty, Ellen Bass, Robin Coste Lewis and Tim Seibles alongside students and faculty members. Readings by, or the work of, high school students and incarcerated individuals who took workshops with Sarah Lawrence poetry students will also be featured.

The festival begins at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, April 15 and concludes Sunday afternoon, April 17, in the Heimbold Visual Arts Center.

Also featured will be readings by, or work of, high school students and incarcerated individuals who have taken workshops with Sarah Lawrence poetry students. The three-day festival begins Friday evening at 6:30 p.m. in the College’s Heimbold Visual Arts Center and continues through Sunday afternoon.
