Concordia Women's Volleyball 'Digs Pink' Friday

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – The Concordia College women’s volleyball team will try to bring awareness of and raise money to battle breast cancer when it “Digs Pink” Friday night.

The Clippers will face Post University in a Central Atlantic College Conference North Division matchup and will use the game to raise money for the Susan G. Komen Foundation. The players will wear pink T-shirts during the pregame and will have a 50/50 raffle, the proceeds of which will benefit the foundation.

The team set its goal at $250. The match begins at 6 p.m. in the Meyer Athletic Center.

“Personally, four of my aunts suffer from the disease,” said Hillary Hoffman, a junior from East Meadow, N.Y. “Breast cancer nowadays is very common and I think it is pretty fair to say that almost everyone knows someone affected by this disease. On Friday, I will be playing in honor of my aunts and for not only the people we know who have suffered but for everyone affected by the disease.”
