In June, Meyer will be completing her first year as assistant principal at the Edgemont Junior-Senior High School. She will take over in Bronxville on July 1.

Before transitioning to Edgemont, Meyer was a member of the district’s science department, teaching AP Biology and AP Environmental Science. She also served as the chair of the Professional Development Policy Board and launched the Bronxville Voices Project.

The search began in February with open meetings for students, faculty and parents. Following those meetings, an anonymous survey was posted on the website, asking which qualities were most important in the next principal.

After the survey results, the applicants were narrowed to five, who then interviewed with a screening committee that consisted of four students, two parents, three faculty members, two administrators and two members of the Board of Education, which then narrowed the search to two finalists.

In her application, Meyer expressed excitement at the prospect of returning to the Bronxville School District.

“My commitment to the principles for which Bronxville High School stands as well as my desire to help students of the high school to gain the knowledge and skills necessary to thrive in college and beyond would make me a great candidate for the position,” she said. “I would welcome the opportunity to return to lead the faculty and students in order to continue the tradition of excellence in Bronxville High School. “
