Pelham Manor Police Deal With Two Car Accidents

PELHAM MANOR, N.Y. – Pelham Manor police dealt with two car accidents Thursday. One occurred around 7:45 p.m. on Boston Post Road.

A driver in a red 1999 Toyota Corolla traveled west on Boston Post Road through the intersection in front of the Fairway Market. The driver said that he or she drove straight because the traffic signal allowed it, but the second car made a left turn, cut in front and caused the Corolla to crash into it.

The driver of the second car, a black 2009 Toyota Camry, said she travelled east on Boston Post Road. She told police she had a green arrow at the intersection and tried to turn left, but the Corolla came through the intersection and hit her.

The Corolla had damage to the passenger side doors, while the Camry had damage to the whole front end. The driver of the Corolla was taken to Sound Shore Medical Center, and the driver of the Camry was taken to Montefiore Medical Center.

The other accident occurred around 4 p.m. at Boston Post Road and West Street. The first driver, with one passenger, traveled eastbound on Boston Post Road in the right lane. The car turned right onto West Street, at which point the second car hit it from behind.

The driver of the first car complained of neck pain and the passenger said he felt his neck whip back and forth during the collision but felt no pain afterwards.

The second driver, with two passengers, also traveled eastbound on Boston Post Road in the right lane. The driver told police that the first car stopped short during a right turn and the collision was unavoidable.

One passenger in the second car complained of back pain, while another indicated neck pain. Everyone involved in the accident refused medical attention.
