The defacement was discovered by a customer on a copy of this week's Northern Westchester Examiner in an inside area of the Chase Bank at 1025 Brown St. in Peekskill, said Peekskill Det. Sgt. Jack Galusha.

The paper had swastikas and the letters "KKK" on the front page, police said.

The customer, who was concerned, took the paper to police who said they are actively investigating the incident, including checking surveillance cameras at the bank.
