WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. - A former police sergeant from Westchester working in Florida was seriously injured in a motorcycle crash.
Retired Bronxville Police Sgt. Anthony Deleo, now working as a deputy for the St. John’s County Sheriff’s Department in Florida, was hospitalized after being involved in a motorcycle crash Friday, according to reports out of Florida, which Bronxville police officials confirmed.
According to the reports , Deleo was traveling on County Road 210 when he lost control of his motorcycle and struck a tree. He was thrown from his vehicle and struck a concrete utility pole. Deleo was subsequently transported to a nearby hospital by helicopter, but is expected to survive.
Deleo had been a sergeant in Bronxville for several years before he moved south to St. John’s County to serve as a Sheriff’s deputy three years ago.
