O'Leary said an autopsy was performed today, determining a homicide occurred.

"The infant is a boy of apparent Hispanic heritage," O'Leary said. "He was born alive, very recently, and then murdered. Detectives are not disclosing the exact cause of death because of the ongoing investigation."

The boy’s body was disposed of in a black plastic bag that was placed inside another garage bag, O'Leary said.

"That outer bag contained some lottery tickets and other items that lead detectives to a deli in Spring Valley," O'Leary said. "There are some dumpsters in an alley behind the deli. We don’t believe the deli is involved; just that someone used the dumpster in that same area to dispose of the body."

A $2,500 reward is reportedly being offered by Crime Stoppers for an arrest and conviction.
