Bronxville Board of Education Plans School Year

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. -- The Bronxville Board of Education has already mapped out its meeting schedule for the 2011-2012 school year.

At its annual re-organization meeting earlier this month, the board determined it will meet twice each month during September, October, February, March, April and May.

There will be one meeting in August, November, December, January and June. All of the meetings will begin at 7 pm and will be held in the All-Purpose room.

The budget is scheduled to be adopted by the board on April 19 and, in accordance with state law, residents will vote on the budget on April 24, within seven days of adoption by the board.

Dr. James Hudson will remain the president of the Board of Education, and David Brashear will take over as vice president.

Dr. Charles Cain will head five board sub-committees, facilities, special education, Medicaid, staff development and act as liaison to the Bronxville School Foundation.

Hudson will act as liaison to the Village Board. Richard Rugani will act as liaison for both the Westchester and the New York State school board associations. He will also head the negotiations committee.

Trustee Denise Tormey will act as Parent Teacher Association liaison.

Trustee Chris Atayan will chair the audit committee and Trustee Pierre de St. Phalle will chair the finance committee,

The board will meet again on August 29.
