EASTCHESTER, N.Y. – Literature lovers in Bronxville looking to get their hands on fresh titles will once again have the chance at the library this fall as officials begin preparation for the annual village-wide book swap.
Each year, residents interested in updating and diversifying their personal libraries have the opportunity to drop off their gently used books at the Bronxville Public Library, where they are redeemed with tickets for each title, which can in turn be exchanged during the book swap for other novels.
The library is accepting any and all “gently used adult, children and teen books – fiction and non fiction.” Books with mold, dust, underlining, highlights, broken spines or pages that are yellowed stained or ripped will not be accepted. Books that are donated can be brought to the Yeager Room on the lower level of the library.
Each book can be redeemed for one ticket – with a limit of 30 books per family. Books can be dropped off from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday Aug. 31 and Tuesday, Sept. 1 from 1 to 8:30 p.m. The book swaps will be held on Thursday, Sept. 3 from 1 to 8:30 p.m. and the following day from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Any books that are not traded will be available for purchase on Saturday, Sept. 5 from 9:30 a.m. to noon. All of the proceeds generated during the book sale will be used to benefit the Friends of the Bronxville Public Library.
