Rain Causes Flooding on County Parkways

PELHAM, N.Y. - Rain throughout lower Westchester County has caused flooding on both the Hutchinson River and the Bronx River parkways.

The Hutchinson River Parkway is flooded in both directions and is closed northbound from Exit 8, Sandford Boulevard in Mount Vernon, to Exit 13, Cross County Parkway, according to Kieran O'Leary, spokesman for the Westchester County Department of Public Safety.

The road is closed southbound from the Cross County Parkway to the Bronx-Westchester County line.

The Bronx River Parkway is flooded northbound at the New York City line near Yonkers. All lanes are closed, according to the New York State Department of Transportation.
