Dear Ms. Lowey,
You and your fellow Democrats' support for open borders without restrictions led to this. This virus was eradicated in the U.S. since the 60's. Only recently to resurface? It is widespread in Central and South America. Put two and two together. We had borders for a reason - to prevent circumstances like this. When will you and your cohorts wake up? View Comment
What a ludicrous waste of my - and my neighbors' - tax dollars.
They couldn't have gotten one of their overpaid administrators to look into it, internally? Yet another local example of bloated bureaucracy affecting the lives of its citizens in very real ways.
As if the city of Peekskill can afford to now 200 large that might've been better spent on improving the education and culture within the community... View Comment
I am a Peekskill resident and a proud owner of numerous semi automatic weapons. Even if our criminal government institutes a ban on said "assault weapons," I will not be turning them in. That's a promise.
I'm family man, a peaceful and libertarian-minded person, and a college educated (self-described) intellectual. What these so called progressives are proposing will weaken this nation and set the stage for the potential of numerous government abuses in the future. Ask the Russians. Ask the Chinese. Ask the Germans, circa WWll.
It's funny how little our public servants know about history, the Constitution, and unalienable rights. View Comment
If you look at the videos, there is live footage from each location.
Your trusted, reliable media is owned and operated by the same big banks that control our government. We live in a controlledenvironment, where corporate, governmental, and media interests coalesce in favor of the elites that pull the strings. It is in their best interests that we become disarmed. The more I read about the details of this story, the less they make sense. 100 rounds were fired by two pistols? In under 15 minutes? This kids must have been a pro to walk around shooting and reloading without hesitation. Not buying it in my opinion. Then I saw videos and heard police scanner recordings of the cops arresting TWO other suspects that were fleeing the scene. We never heard about those guys, did we? Both dressed in camo fatigues and running through the woods behind the school. Add the fact that this kid was autistic, and all of this does not seem likely - sort of far fetched.
Although a shooting like this (coupled with Aurora, the Sikh temple, and countless others where two gunmen were accounted for in eyewitness reports yet only one was documented) would certainly do a whole lot to stir up the conversation about gun control.
Just saying, our government had pulled of false flag attacks in the past to advance certain political agendas... View Comment
Tim, please calm down with the republican/democrat paradigm thing. I am SO not with that. It makes you seem very juvenile and sheltered to cast assertions on people who are arguing valid points.
I don't buy into parties that are funded and managed by the same big banks. I don't vote for candidates who support a treasonous federal reserve system. I don't support unconstitutional ideologies.
Would it surprise you that I'm an avid gun enthusiast, while at the same time being staunchly anti-war? Not everyone fits into the neat little boxes that Chris Matthews would like them to.
Why is it that the so-called "liberals" (actually, authoritarians) seem more militant and angry than us gun-owning libertarians?
It sounds like you've been watching too much network news, dude... Mad love, man.
Yes, Tim. I am a wacko for wanting to protect myself. Crazy, indeed.
Do some research into the historical implications of disarming the populace. Hitler did it. Mao did it. So did Stalin.
An armed citizenry is the greatest deterrent to tyranny and foreign occupation. The second amendment is the teeth to our Constitution. There is nothing wacko about that.
Unless, of course, you trust a government that murders thousands of men, women, and children a year in drone strikes overseas, and then lies about it. Our a government that openly sports ruthless dictators for its own devices. Where are the tears for the children of Iraq, Somalia, Pakistan, Yemen, and Afghanistan?
I'm very happy to be able to protect myself and my family, and I wouldn't trust anyone else with the honor. Given the nature of our history as a nation, it would be interesting to see what might happen should our corrupt and internationally owned government decide to relinquish the citizen's right to bear arms. And this is why our nation is losing its grip. Because people cannot respect the freedoms of others.
By the way, I'm neither Republican, Democrat, or an NRA member. I don't believe in belonging to clubs that support freedoms that are already unalienable.
The blatant authoritarianism that is being displayed by what I thought was an educated Westchester constituency is beyond me. Have any of you read the constitution? Do any of you have the foggiest idea as to why the 2ND Amendment was established? Perhaps instead of marginalizing gun owners and criminalizing law abiding citizens out of FEAR, you should understand a thing or two about the right to protect oneself. I, for one, would rather rely on my own ability to pretext myself our those around me in the event of a heinous act rather than waiting for the calvary to arrive. The shooting yesterday occurred in under 15 minutes, and police arrived after the last bullet was fired. If the administration had been trained to combat the threat rather than hiding under desks, can we assume that less children might have been murdered? If you outlaw guns, only criminals will possess them. Prohibition never works. Not with alcohol. Not with drugs. And certainly not with guns. Quit being so flaccid and PC. The Founders knew what they were writing, and why. View Comment
Schools need to have trained and armed citizen hall monitors. There needs to be a balance of force to deter this type of wanton violence. Our schools are shooting galleries for these types of psychos. Our children need to be instructed at an early age the dangers of gun violence - not by fear mongering and demonizing gun owners, but by gun safety education and ethics. As a father of a pre school aged boy, I think it's important to teach kids about the danger of mentally unstable people so they are aware of the appropriate force that is needed to deal with them, if and when something like this happens again. To some, this sounds unreasonable, but when will the madness end? When will we finally accept the responsibility of protecting our own? View Comment
