A car coming at you is a deadly weapon that you’re not going to stop by putting your hand up. That night was a mob scene with the police out numbered. Where do these college students get off coming into our town, probably using phony I.D.’S and drinking. This endangers the people living in this town not to mention our children. Another instance of a liberal rag infringing on the rights of citizens who own guns legally. Why don’t they list the names and addresses of all the illegal’s in the area, who have their hands in our pockets by not paying taxes and flying under the radar, they could have guns and we would never know. Why also don’t they list the name and address of anyone convicted of DWI. A car in the hands of a drunk is as dangerous as a gun. What’s next will they list the name and addresses of all the bow hunters in the area, a bow in the right hands is also as dangerous as a gun. The fairs go up but what is the benefit to the riders? I understand costs going up but the normal working persons salary isn’t even keeping up with the cost of living. Do their employees pay into their health insurance like most of us do? Something also has to be done with the Hawthorne Station it is a toilet. At night there are kids on the station from the two institutions that should not be in our area. They urinate in the elevators and have destroyed the glass in the waiting room on the station, not to mention all food wrappers and bottles thrown on the floor. Guess they were never learned to use a garbage can. One night around 9:00pm two of them were having sex in the elevator. Maybe some of the increase should go to renovating the station and having a Metro North cop patrol the station . It’s sad that the stations at 125th street or even Fordham Road in the Bronx puts ours to shame. So I guess we should be happy with the increases, and that it will now cost close to $5,000.00 a year to travel from Hawthorne to lower Manhattan( Metro North + Subway) Thank you so much MTA. Obama put up a smoke screen for 4 years. More people are out of work now than when he started his term. The employment numbers are way higher than 8% probably closer to 20%( Once people use up their unemployment insurance they drop of the grid in the unemployment number). The government is afraid to let the true figure out. I was unemployed for almost 2 years till I found full time employment now making a considerable amount less than I did before the lay off in my previous firm. I applied for Obama’s Making Home A fordable plan. After 1 ½ years of paper work being faxed to GMAC (Who now have filed Chapter 11 Bankruptcy) I gave up. Had to get a Lawyer to help me with the modification. Now we have Obama care. Did your insurance go down, if you say yes you are as big a fiber as Obama. The average health insurance has gone up almost $2,000.00. I asked my plan’s customer service department why and was told there are more people on the roles because of Obama care so their cost have gone up. Thank you Mr. Obama !!! How many non American’s are we footing the bill for. Where is the money going to come from to fund Obama care? OUT OF OUR POCKETS !!! Employers will be laying off full time people and taking on part timers so they don’t have to pay the high insurance costs. If Obama gets in it will not be God Bless America it will be God Help America. I fought for this country and for the first time in my life I am ashamed of the man called commander and chief. True it was a tragedy a person lost their life because of something that could have been avoided altogether. Maybe if the group of students acted like respectable citizens and not like animals destroying property in a area business and then taking the disturbance out into the street this never would have happened. THESE STUDENTS SHOULD HAVE BEEN HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR DJ’S DEATH. I do not condone what happened but maybe if parents would teach their children they are not above the law , respect people’s property and when out with friends and not become an uncontrolled mob this will not happen again. I use the Station. It's no mistery who is peeing in the station. It's the kids from the neighboring reform school. This school doesn't belong in the area. Every day they are on the station leaving trash on the floor, every other word is F this or F that. They act like animals on the trains feet on the seats trash on the floors. The cars that are parking in the lot without a permit should get fines. Not $10.00 which is cheep parking but $90.00 to $100.00and you will see how soon it will stop. The fines could be used to improve the station. View Comment
