In Florida the PSC requires a Hurricane reserve fund. Wooden poles are being replaced with concrete and fiber glass poles . Buy comparision two new large Nuclear Power plants were just approved for Turkey Point 20 miles South of the Cities of Miami and Miami Beach. This will make a total of 4 Nuclear Reactors the same size as Indian Point. The fish and wild life in Biscane Bay have not been harmed in the 15 years the two Nuclear Plants have been in operation. The Electric utitilty rates in South Florida do not compare to NYC due to the Nuclear Generators through out Florida. View Comment

Twenty miles south of the Cities of Miami Beach and the City of Miami for the last 20 years the 2 Turkey Point Nuclear same as Indian Point which is owned by Florida Power and Light provides very low rates. We have been a supporter of this GREAT Hospital for the last 50 years Plus When the old Hospital was on South Street in 1938 the charge for delivery of a baby was $3. To day with the new medical office building , and single bed rooms and well run Emergency Room with no waiting, and a great list of staff doctors . Sparkle Lake Via The D. E. C. Another waste of taxpayers money. Last year through our Engineering Dept.of the Town of Yorktown excepted with out any comment or objection a D. E. C.order to check the structure of the 6 foot Sparkle lake Dam. The Town awarded a NO BID Engineering contract to check this heavy rock and earth 6 foot deep and over 100 Feet long by 100 wide for $ 35,000. plus extras. Does any one know were the study and report is? This dam and man made lake has been holding back all the silt run offs for about the last 100 years. In the past the lake would be drained every winter just by opening the Dam Valve and collecting the silt from the street runoff with the dead weeds. Plus Does any one know there is a detention pond built by the Bridle Ridge developer up stream on Town property that has never been cleaned from all the catch basin run off. View Comment

The Spent Nuclear Fuel story goes back to November 1965 . Indiain Point #1 was shut down for its first refueling after 3 years of service. And returned to service In the first AEC Atomic Energy Commission operating Specs for all the Nuclear Power Plants in operation in the1960 New State along with the Feds were to build fuel reproccesing plants. In the past Con Edision trucked out spent fuel in lead lined casts. Where was the used fuel rods sent ? Who owns the spent fuel ? The main reason Indian Point #1 was decomissioned it had no backup emergency fuel core coiling system. And the New York State Power Authority was looking to buy into New Nuclear Power Plants.
