Pound Ridge Man, 22, Steals Pricey Shotgun, Police Say A Pound Ridge man stole a $7,650 shotgun from a barn on a Father Peter's Lane property, New Canaan Police said. Matthew R. Blasco, 22, of 68 Westchester Ave., Apt. C., turned himself into police Saturday afternoon in connection with the Nov. 5 theft. He's charged with third-degree larceny and third-degree burglary. He posted a $10,000 bond and was released to appear in court on March 10.

Man Found Dead In Stamford Alley Identified As Guatemalan Native STAMFORD, Conn. -- Police have identified a man found dead in an alley in Stamford Thursday evening as 46-year-old Horacio Monroy Sagastume. Sagastume is a Guatemalan native who police said is homeless. His body was discovered in an alleyway between two homes on Spruce Street near Stamford Hospital Thursday. Police have not yet revealed a cause of death, but said that no foul play is suspected.

Police Respond After Suicidal Threats In Stamford STAMFORD, Conn. -- A 63-year-old Stamford man is in hospital for a psychiatric observation after he threatened to kill himself, prompting a police response Monday. The Westwood Road man was holed up in the home by himself, police said. "He was holed up in a house with some suicidal tendencies and a variety of grievances," said Deputy Chief Tom Wuennemann. Police surrounded the home and made contact with him and he agreed to come out and go to the hospital. There are no criminal charges, Wuennemann said.
