SCARSDALE, N.Y. - Golfers who have long wanted to play a round at the historic Quaker Ridge Golf Club in Scarsdale may soon have the chance, as the village gets set to host a charitable event to support next year’s USGA Curtis Cup competition.

The Quaker Ridge Golf Club has announced the inaugural Quaker Ridge Challenge tournament, which will be hosted on July 10 to support operational costs of the 2018 Curtis Cup, which will be hosted in Scarsdale next June.

According to the Quaker Ridge Golf Club, the Curtis Cup is a biennial competition between top women amateur golfers from the United States, Great Britain and Ireland (Team GB&I), who will take their talents to Scarsdale for a tournament starting on June 8 next year.

The Quaker Ridge Challenge Tournament format is best ball of the foursome, net and gross. Participants can choose to play for either the USA or GB&I team and can register as an individual, twosome or foursome.

The cost to play will not come cheap, however. There is a required $1,500 donation per player, or $6,000 for a foursome. Those interested in registering for the Quaker Ridge Challenge can call (203) 454-0232. There are also presenting and other sponsorship packages available.
