The NCAA hit Penn State with a $60 million sanction and a four-year ban on all postseason college football. It also vacated all of the Penn State football team’s wins from 1998 to 2011, which will also affect the career record of former head coach Joe Paterno.

The university must also reduce 10 scholarships initially and 20 total scholarships for the next four years.

The NCAA said the $60 million figure represents the average annual revenue of Penn State’s football program.

I am looking for the quickest way to get from central New Jersey (around Edison) to Westchester County (around White Plains) using mass transit. Are there any trains or buses that go straight from central New Jersey (Middlesex County) to Westchester County without cutting through NYC? www.rapidofficesupply.com

Penn State, Paterno, et.al, put winning and $$$ over exposing a pedophile.

Unacceptable to say the least. They get whatever punishment they deserve.

This is not only about protecting children and punishing those who did not, but also an indictment on school sports. There is way too much emphasis on sports for a few while academics for the majority is secondary. Look at any high school, or middle school sports program and you will see the sports above all else mentality among coaches, and administrations. A small district that I know will be spending more than $650,000 for after school sports but laid off teachers, aides, and does not have money for school supplies in the coming academic year not to mention there is no real worthwhile physical education program. The sports lobby in this district is loud and organized with the administration and board of Ed afraid to face up to them. Ask any teacher what is important in their district and the answer is after school sports.
