The event is sponsored by Building Bridges, an organization of The Business Council of Westchester, and will focus on how Division I coaches teach leadership skills and how those on-court skills transform to success in the business world once athletes leave school. Kennedy is slated to speak as part of a four-person panel on Thursday, Dec. 11 at 8 a.m. The discussion will be moderated by Walt Fowler, sports director/anchor for News 12 Westchester. In addition to Kennedy, the other men's basketball coach on the panel is Tim Cluess, head coach at Iona College. There is also a pair of Division I Women's Basketball head coaches, which include Brian Giorgis of Marist College and Stephanie Gaitley of Fordham University. The cost of the event is $55 for current members or $75 for future members of the Business Council of Westchester. Before arriving to Pace, Kennedy had spent the previous 31 years of his coaching career in Division I. He spent his first six years as a head coach at Iona College before heading south to Florida State University for the next 11 seasons. His final 14 years before Pace were spent at DePaul University, University of Montana, and Towson University. During his 32-year career as a coach, Kennedy has made eight trips to the NCAA Tournament. Pace returns to the gym on Tuesday, Dec. 9, when they travel to Queens College for a non-conference showdown at 7 p.m.
