BRONXVILLE, N.Y. The Concordia Clippers womens volleyball hosted its Black and Royal night Wednesday but fell to Nyack 3-1 in a closely played match.
The Clippers, fresh off a season-opening trip to California and looking for their first win of the year, were edge by the visiting Warriors 25-21 and 25-20 in the first two sets. In the third set, the Clippers would turn the tables and put on an offensive show for the crowd, taking the set 25-13. The fourth set was a back-and-forth battle between the two teams as the home crowd at the Meyer Athletic Center tried to be the seventh player on the court to gain an edge.
After a timeout with the score tied 23-23, the Warriors would put the game away to win the final set 25-23 and take the 3-1 win. Concordia (0-4, 0-1 CACC) will have almost a week off until their next match. The Clippers will travel to face non-conference opponent Molloy Tuesday for a 7p.m. start.
