The runners completed the marathon on Rev. Dr. Robert Hartwell's team and each raised at least $3,000 for scholarships for Chapel School students, according to a press release. Team Chapel's runners included Jessica Murrer, Jack Culaj, Rob Gebhart, Jamie Geier, Kristy Levinson and Toni Romano.

“To commit to a marathon, both physically and with the level of support that each runner must raise, is a testimony to their care for our school and students," said Hartwell in the release.

Chapel School has received gifts and pledges of almost $15,000, according to the press release.

"All money raised for Team Chapel Marathon goes to help support scholarship assistance for deserving students that otherwise may not be able to attend the Chapel School," said Development Office Program Manager Kim Zwisdak, in the release. "In these tough economic times, we hate to see anyone get left behind and are so grateful for the runners and their dedicated to our school and students."

Chapel School Principal James Dhyne said in the release that he was thankful for the gifts.

“Gifts continue to be recorded," Dhyne said in the release. "Team Chapel did a fantastic job and the money raised will go a long way in meeting the needs of our deserving students.”
