EASTCHESTER, N.Y. - The memory of beloved coach Dom Cecere will be honored at the annual Eastchester Hall of Fame ceremony as the first recipient of the Golden Eagle Service Award.

The Eastchester Alumni Association’s Hall of Fame Selection Committee announced the 2017 inductees, headlined by the Cecere, the legendary varsity coach who won the most games in state history before losing a battle with cancer in April.

Other Hall of Fame inductees include:

  • Louis Di Francesco ’59;
  • Dr. Michael Spinell ’62;
  • Elizabeth Bracken-Thompson ’70;
  • Jeanne Alter ’78;
  • Michael Mann ’78;
  • Jennifer Levene Brune ’90;
  • Dr. Robert C. di Targiani ’94.

Each year, the Alumni Association honors former student-athletes that “have made significant contributions in arts, sciences, business, education, sports, military service, entertainment, professional leadership, volunteerism and community service” in the years following their graduation.

New this year is the Golden Eagle Service Award, which pays tribute to “outstanding teachers, coaches, volunteers and others who have gone above and beyond in service of the Eastchester School District.”

There will be a Hall of Fame celebration beginning at 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 26 at Mulino’s of Lake Isle on White Plains Road. Tickets are $100 and RSVPs should be received no later than Oct. 13.
