Eastchester HS Hosts Cecere Scholarship Baseball Tourney

EASTCHESTER, N.Y. – The second annual Dom Cecere Scholarship Baseball Tournament has been announced for Saturday, May 9, at Eastchester High School.

The event, where all proceeds will go to the Dom Cecere Scholarship Fund, features the varsity teams from Eastchester, Tuckahoe, New Rochelle, Hastings, Edgemont and Walter Panas. Game times are set across the day – 10 a.m., 12:30 and 3 p.m.

The scholarship fund, named for the longtime Eastchester coach, traditionally supports a senior player who plans on attending college with a $1,000 scholarship.

After the tournament ends, there will be a party at Mickey Spillane’s Bar & Restaurant on White Plains Road from 7-10 p.m. Admission of $60 will get attendees all they can eat in appetizers, beer, wine and soda.

To donate to the fund, make checks payable to John Riccio, FBO Cecere Scholarship Fund, and mail them to John Doherty, 180 Lakeview Ave., Scarsdale, NY 10583.
