BRONXVILLE, N.Y. Concordia College womens tennis player Yuliya Plevako has earned a spot on the College Sports Information Directors of America Capital One Academic All-District First Team.
The native of Kazakhstan will represent her school on the national ballot and has a chance to earn Academic All-American Honors. To be eligible for the award, a student athlete must be at least a sophomore with at least a 3.30 GPA and must either start or play significant time off the bench.
Plevako played at the No. 1 position in both singles and doubles and finished the season with an 11-2 record in both categories. She led the Clippers to the second round of the NCAA East Regional.
Plevako earned Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Player of the Week twice this season, on Sept. 20 and Oct. 17, and also made the CACC All-First Team. She is ranked third in singles and doubles in the NCAA Division II East Region, according to the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.
