BRONXVILLE, N.Y. Concordia College mens tennis player Daniele Piludu has earned Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-American honors for his singles play this season.
Concordia has produced a mens ITA All-American for five consecutive years, and the native of Cagliari, Italy, is the latest. To qualify, a player must end the season in the top 20 of the final Campbell/ITA National Rankings. The sophomore finished 15th in the national singles rankings and first in the East Region.
Piludu, the Central Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Year, compiled a 19-3 record in singles and a 13-8 record in doubles this season. He also earned most valuable player honors in the CCAC postseason tournament.
He the season with nine straight singles wins, including a victory over the then-No. 1 player in the East Region in early April and three wins against nationally ranked opponents.
