Concordia Volleyball Game Canceled After Athlete Dies

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – Friday night’s scheduled women’s volleyball match between Concordia College and Post University has been cancelled due to the death of one of Post’s student-athletes.

Rob Roman, a 20-year-old cross country runner and basketball player from New York City, died at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia on Thursday night after he collapsed during a cross country meet.

The match would have been played under the “Dig Pink” campaign to help Concordia raise money for the Susan G. Komen Foundation. No makeup date has been scheduled.
