BRONXVILLE, N.Y. -- The Concordia College softball team has been chosen to finish in sixth place according to the recently released Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) softball preseason poll. The voting was conducted by the conference’s 14 head coaches.

Last season, the Clippers finished with a 25-14 overall record and a 20-6 CACC record. Concordia was winner of the regular-season conference championship and will look to repeat this spring. Dominican College is ranked No. 1 with 189 total points and eight of the possible 14 first-place votes, while the Clippers accumulated 128 points.

The Clippers are coached by Kathy Laoutoris and assistant Thomas “Skip” Walsh, former longtime Eastchester High School softball coach

Concordia will kick off its 2012 season on March 4 against Hannibal-La Grange in Clermont, Fla. The Clippers’ home opener will take place on March 18 against CACC opponent Chestnut Hill College with the first pitch set for 1 p.m.
