LYNDHURST, N.Y. The Concordia College Clippers baseball team concluded its regular season with a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference loss, 5-2, Wednesday at Felician College.
The Clippers needed a win to earn the sixth seed in the conference tournament but the Golden Falcons prevented Concordia from qualifying for the postseason with the win.
Felician got on the scoreboard in the bottom of the second inning for a 2-0 lead. Concordia was unable to get their offense going through the first four innings as the team only recorded two hits.
In the top of the fifth, the Clippers grabbed their first run of the game off a single by Tarrytowns Yonatan Rodriguez, which scored Eastchesters David Perlleshi.
Down 3-1 in the sixth inning, Concordia responded when Michael Barbetto drove home David Valasquez with a sacrifice fly to make the score 3-2. Felician responded by scoring two runs in bottom of the eighth inning to take a 5-2 final advantage.
Concordia finished the regular season tied for sixth in the conference with a record of 13-31.
