The Concordia College Clippers mens basketball team was back in action Sunday, dropping an 86-59 decision to St. Anselm College in the final game of the St. Rose Tip-Off Tournament.
The first 10 minutes of the first half were closely contested until battle the Hawks went on a 15-2 run to take a 28-16 lead with six minutes to play in the half. Concordia was unable to slow down their opposition in the closing minutes of the half and St. Anselm went into the locker room with a 46-28 lead.
Junior Argelix Gil (Brooklyn, N.Y.) led Concordia with 21 points on eight-of-14 shooting from the field and recorded a team-high nine rebounds. Junior Brandon Whitaker added 12 points and four rebounds for the Clippers.
Concordia (1-1, 0-0 CACC) will host nonconference opponent New York Institute of Technology Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. in the 2nd Annual Jimmy Sayegh Game at Meyer Athletic Center on the campus of Concordia College.
