BRONXVILLE, N.Y. -- The Sarah Lawrence College women's swim team captured its fifth-straight conference title at the 2014 Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Swimming Invitational hosted by the College of New Rochelle recently.
The Gryphons won nine of 11 events, racking up 149 points, to secure the team title, beating out St. Joseph's College Brooklyn (77 points) and host CNR (60 points).
The highlight of the meet for Sarah Lawrence was the 200-yard freestyle event when Jacqueline Quirk, Natasha Leonard and Monika Mednick swept the top three positions.
The Gryphons enjoyed another medal sweep in the 100-yard freestyle. Gabby Risica took the top spot while Quirk and Leonard came in second and third, respectively.
Sarah Lawrence rounds out the regular season on Saturday, Feb. 8 when the Gryphons travel to the Skidmore College Women's Invitational in Saratoga Springs, N.Y.
