Bronxville's Meredith Rizzo, Relay Team Win State Track Titles

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. - Bronxville High School's Meredith Rizzo won an individual title in the 1,500-meter run and led the girls 4x800 relay team to a title at the New York State Track & Field Championships in Middletown Sunday.

Rizzo, a senior in her final state competition, ran a time of 4:34.97  to win the Division II  championship in the 1,500. Her time was fourth best all time at Bronxville and eighth best all time for a Division II Westchester runner. Courtney Campbell (2:20.02), Hillary Rizzo (2:19.46) and Kaitlin Ryan (2:17.21) joined Meredith Rizzo (2:15.70) in taking the 4x800 relay in a time of 9:12.38. The team of Ryan, Hilary Rizzo, Lise Hudson and Meredith Rizzo also took fourth in the state in the 4x400 relay in a time of 3:59.90.  Campbell placed third and Hillary Rizzo took eighth in the 800-meter run  and Ana Timoney ran a time of  17.06 for 13th spot in the 110-meter hurdles.
