Cain didn’t shatter any records or reach her best personal time – but Cain’s 4:11.48 finish in the 1,500-meter event was good enough to qualify the 17-year-old for the finals at Drake university in Des Moines, Iowa.

The soon-to-be high school senior, who holds nearly every girl’s amateur record in the 800 through 5,000-meter races finished second overall in the race. She will compete in the 5,000-meter event at Drake University on Sunday.
