BRONXVILLE, N.Y. -- Bronxville High School two-way starter Luke Marrone suffered a broken bone in his left arm last week during practice but said Wednesday he is determined to be back in action by late October.
Marrone, a senior captan, wide receiver and defensive back for the Broncos, said he fractured his left forearm and hoped to be ready to play again before season's end. Marrone is a three-sport athlete who also plays basketball and competes in track and field.
"I broke my arm; I'm hoping to be back for homecoming when we play Dobbs Ferry," Marrone said Wednesday. "I'm pretty bummed, but the team looks good."
Marrone said coach Jeff Napolitano has several options at quarterback until he can possibly return for the Dobbs Ferry game scheduled for Oct. 20.
"There's a lot of players that can fill that spot," Marrone said. "Charlie Tarry, James McDermott, Parker Lapins and Paul Austi can play my spots."
Bronxville hosts Woodlands at 2:30 p.m. on Sept. 8 in its season opener.
