Bronxville Girls’ Track Sweeps To League Meet Title

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. - The Bronxville High School girl's indoor track and field team took 11 first place individual or relay titles Sunday to capture the League 2D championship at the Armory in New York City.

Coach Jim Mitchell, who also coaches fall cross country and spring track and field, led his indoor team to its 32nd consecutive league championship.

The Broncos had 18 athletes earn All-League honors led by Meredith Rizzo (600-meter run), Anna Leemputte (1,500 racewalk), Argentina Chrappa (3,000), Kaitlin Ryan (1,000), Emilie Hoffer (1,500), Lucy Kohlhoff (300 meters), Ana Timoney (55-meter hurdles) and Sophie Kohlhoff (long jump), who each won individual titles.

Courtney Campbell, Morgan Nobles, Veronica Walsh, Delia Hayes, Caroline DePaul, Jamie Carroll, Nicola Phillips, Amelia Phillips, Jess Tighe and Hilary Rizzo were also named All-League, while Fiona Roediger and Vivian Mroz earned honorable mention honors.

The Broncos girls will next compete next at Yale University on Jan. 18 and at the County Championships on Jan. 20.
