The Bronxville girls indoor track and field team got winning individual performances from Meredith Rizzo, Hillary Rizzo, Mary Cain and Caroline Muir and outstanding support from the relay teams to take first place in Class C and third overall in the Open Meet at the 168th Street Armory in New York City Sunday.
A great County Championship to finish third in the Open scoring and first in Class C, Bronxville coach Jim Mitchell said. An excellent race by Meredith to win and tremendous efforts by Hilary and Nicola (Phillips) to hit personal records and score in the Open classification and a very nice PR by Caroline in the (race) walk.
Bronxville earned 49 points to rank third overall behind New Rochelle (113) and Mount Vernon (57) and took first in Class C with 52 points, ahead of Valhalla (18) and Croton (16).
