Bronxville Girls Run Jim Mitchell And Kickoff Meets

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. ? Bronxville's girls indoor track and field team had a full weekend of competition Friday and Saturday, running in the Jim Mitchell Invitational and Section 1 Kickoff meets on consecutive days at the Armory in New York City.

"It was an excellent first weekend of track at The Armory, with great performances by the veterans and promising beginnings by the rookies," coach Jim Mitchell said. "We had a very strong 4 x 1500 relay, a nice 1500 by Kaitlin [Ryan] and Argentina [Chrappa], very strong 600s by Courtney [Campbell] and Hilary [Rizzo]."

The Broncos 4 x 800 meter relay team of Campbell, Emilie Hoffer, Veronica Walsh and Ryan led the way at the Section 1 meet Saturday, taking top honors in a time of 9:53. Ana Timoney ran second in the 55 hurdles with a time of 9.57 seconds. Ryan also took third place in the 1500 meters in 5:01.10, a personal record.

Lucy Kohlhoff turned in a third-place finish in the 300 meter run at the Section 1 Kickoff in a time of 44 seconds, and Campbell took third in the 600 in 1:42.70. Delia Hayes and Amelia Phillips placed fourth and fifth in the 1000 meters. Hoffer was fifth in the 3000 at 11:13.10.

In Friday's Mitchell Invitational, Rizzo ran fourth in the 600 meter with a 1:44.56, and Chrappa was third in the 1000 at 3:10.90, a personal record.

In the 4 x 1500 meter relay, the team of Campbell, Hayes, Morgan Nobles and Hoffer placed fourth in 20:10.
