Bronxville Girls Compete at Cornwall Relays

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – The Bronxville High School girls’ track and field team competed at the Cornwall Green Dragon Relays Saturday led by the 4x800 meter relay team that finished first.

“It was a great meet to end the spring break,” Bronxville coach Jim Mitchell said. “It was a bust day for Fiona (Roediger) with four events, two nice relays by Hillary (Rizzo) and a great lead off in the 800 relay by Nicola (Philips) and a strong high hurdles by Ana (Timoney). There’s six weeks to the sectionals.”

Nicola Phillips, Argentina Chrappa, Jordan Sears and Amelia Phillips raced to a winning time of 9:59.1 in the 4x800 with Amelia Phillips anchoring the team with a time of 2:28.5. Chrappa ran 2:29.9, Sears a 2:37.4 and Nicola Phillips gave the Broncos girls an early edge with her sparkling 2:24.1 opening leg.

Emilie Hoffer, Grace Vetromile, Rizzo and Courtney Campbell took second place in the distance medley relay in a time of 12:48.5. Campbell, Hoffer, Rizzo and Amelia Phillips took fourth place in the 4x400 relay.
